Welcome to Baby Gear Strollers
Apr 20th, 2009 by Baby Gear Strollers

As a parent and as an expectant mother my children’s safety is a number one priority to me. The baby gears product market constantly undergoes fluctuations, with changes to product designs and new products introduced frequently. When you are a new parent you often get confused as to which product is the right one for your little one and most importantly which one is safe.

Unfortunately, so many new parents pay much more than they have to for baby products, because they don’t know the secrets that many experienced parents can share with them. It helps if you can find someone who’s done some research for you. The purpose of this web site is to create a community where parents can share their opinions about baby products with other parents.

Here at “Baby Gear Strollers”, I hope you will find the information you need to help you find advice on baby gear, baby essentials and other resources you will need in your parenting journey as we review diferent types of baby gear.

Buying a stroller
Apr 23rd, 2009 by Baby Gear Strollers

Buying a stroller can be as confusing as buying a new car if not more, but with this handy guide it doesn’t have to be. There are several things to consider when buying a new stroller:

Do you live in a private house, are you a city mom and live in the apartment, or do you live in a building with no elevator?

Let’s say you decided to buy a large stroller with plenty of room for the baby and other things you can put in undercarriage basket and let’s say you live in the building with no elevator, now you have to remember that you will have to lug 35lbs stroller up and down the stairs couple of times a week, besides the stroller you have to carry the baby, the diaper bag, the purse and perhaps some groceries. Also don’t forget for a large stroller you will need lots of space in the trunk of your car to fit the stroller, and I’m sure you will need the trunk space for your groceries or shopping bags.

The most popular strollers:

Bugaboo-Cameleon/Frog

Price can range between – $628-$959.99

Weight: The Frame with the seat 20lbs

Drawbacks:

There is no tray by the handle to hold cell phones, keys, toys, etc., no cup holder.  However you can purchase a cupholder separately. There is also no snack tray for the baby. You cannot simply snap the car seat onto it if the baby is asleep, you have to remove the bassinet or the seat, put on the car seat adapter then attach the car seat. You cannot fold the stroller down by yourself while holding a baby. Undercarriage storage is too small, it’s hard to get things in and out.

Benefits:

Lightweight. Moves smoothly over the cracked sidewalks and driveways. It is easy to switch the seat and handlebar. The seat can be facing front or rear with either the large or small wheels in front.  Usable from birth and up

Other Features:

This stroller folds into two pieces: the frame, and the seat/bassinet.  Height-adjustable handlebar is only available on Bugaboo Cameleon strollers not on Frog. Bugaboo is compatible with the following car seats:  Graco Snugride, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30,  Maxi-Cosi Mico.

Stokke Xplory

The stroller is stable and extremely balanced. The handle can be adjusted to your own height. It handles curbs and uneven surfaces easily. This stroller doesn’t have a storage basket it just has an elastic net tray with two bungee straps. It’s relatively heavy. It’s also wide, so going to small stores is little uneasy.
